Switching from the Paccar nightmare to the X15 Cummins to get something completed and rebuild my patience on the Paccar.

I learn something new every time I watch your videos and I got 30yrs experience
Interesting
Well warn we're did you find that stuff you calling sanity
Should be able to change the vin in features and parameters to take care of the abs issue
Watching from Scotland best on YouTube
Love the variety like myself , engine , electrics , hydraulics welding etc
Also jobs the others wonโt do
Do u still have your jd regen. Tractor 4 rent ? God bless
It looks like you jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. Custom Trucks in Oregon sells plug and play harnesses.
The paccar gods heard you call it a POS before you touched a wrench to it … Never anger the paccar gods ๐
Salute Warren. Thanks
For the service brake input pretty sure all you need to do is enable it in j1939 multiplexing and the source is cab controller 1. And at that time you would disable service brake switch. This way it will grab the reading from the cab controller
You certainly come across some odd issues!
It is too bad all these climate control people would get it through their heads that all this emission crap they require on diesel and car engines is not really doing anything except screwing the engine up. But they will not CLIMATE CHNGE IS POLITICAL CONTROL NOT ENVIRONMENTAL
You could easily be a doctor if you wanted. You could be a heart transplant surgeon if you wanted!
Great to see you have momentum closing that project. Always a treat to watch you work Warren. Thanks.
Great Video, Warren. You still got me wondering whatโs going on with the Paccar. My luck they sent a left hand rotation boat engine cam, instead of the correct cam. Iโll be looking forward to hearing what was going on with the darned thing. I really appreciate you taking us along with you, I am sure your Videos are helping a bunch of mechanics across the world. I wish there was something I could do to help you, but Iโm sure you will figure it out. I had an issue with my old 6.2L Diesel Truck engine, that I had the machine shop assemble for a warranty. It was the worst starting engine Iโve ever had, worse than before it was rebuilt. After numerous repair attempts by the machine shop, I come up with the answer in the middle of the night, out of nowhere. They machined the head or block too much and when the engine developed oil pressure the hydraulic lifters would hold the valves open slightly and drop compression, making starting almost impossible. The 6.2L donโt have adjustable valves, rocker shafts bolt directly to the heads, setting the valves. Good luck, Warren
If your ambient temp sensor isn't working it won't let the truck do a regen..
There's an Irish guy on YT,,o Reilly auto ,,He specialises in blocked dpf ,,Even ones that are so blocked they won't force regen,,He only does cars and vans,,,no trucks,,But regardless of it being a truck or car there exactly the same,,only one is bigger,,,He cleans them on the car by forcing a cleaning solution in with a special wand at 135 psi,,He then increces the revs to 3000 for 5 mins,,It works every time,,,,And it's far better for the dpf than a regen,,,
Thank you.
Surprised itโs letting you do a forced regeneration with a check engine light.
Hey Warren. It must be rewarding to get that thing figured out. Way to go man!
Todays diesel mechanic has to also be a diagnostics mechanic – Warren is very proficient at both.
On ur paccer iv seen the lobe spin on the cams like a Volvo at least on a epa-13 Iโm not sure if thatโs ur awnser but it would cause a rough and intermittent miss and more depending on whitch lobe is spinning
Hard to beat the MASTER great job.๐ ๐
Yes good idea to have a break from the other truck warren .
Gives you time to refocus ..good work,on the other truck and you have nearly got this one whipped .๐๐๐๐
Great video Warren glad you're getting the wiring figured on the truck with the X15 swap. Thanks for sharing stay safe Warren.
Remember when diesel engines were simple and diagnostics was straightforward?
We can thank the politicians and their hack bureaucrats for this mess. Thatโs just my opinion as a (1981) Mercedes Diesel owner.
You patience is epic and breadth of knowledge is encyclopedic.
A demigod of mechanics.
I was wondering how many miles are on that engine with it still having the painted fuel filter on it?
Good morning,Warren. Donโt you have to be sane in order to regain it!? Kindest regards,Bill ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ
Great idea to get off the problem child engine and give your brain a rest, and thanks for the update on the Petercar wiring, young man, I am thinking a feller needs to be electronic/ electrical system analyst as well as a mechanic now days ,nice job sir, I enjoyed the video.
Thanks Warren! keep the videos coming!
Warren your a genius I hope you realize this
I love how your idea of regaining sanity is an engine swap.
Amazing job warren ,thx for sharing
Safe travels
Before you go any further, if you think the ECM is bad, donโt you think you are a crank it to make sure it will run on that ECM because you might have to buy one anyway, if Engine wonโt start Grace Grace and peace
Great video Warren. Sometimes you have to move to something else as the prior job was getting over whelming. When you go back, the problem will most likely jump out at you.
