  1. Rational brain: "Monkey brain, I know what you are thinking, so please, do not grab the broken plug to yank it out!"
Most rationalist brain: "Fifty fifty that sombitch is hot, Fuk't looks like the negative to me. Unless that sparky was just as dumb, so still fifty fifty… Ah fuk't."

  2. So saying that vehicle inspections are stupid is sorry just stupid you just need to watch a couple "customer stats" episodes from just rolled in!
I understand that they are too strict especially in the EU but I would take a regular strict inspection for every one every time over having cars that could break in two any time because the frame is rusted away on the same roads that I use!

  3. I used to work in a Telstra Exchange, will post my photos to this sub.
I have one photo where a bunch of birds got into the exchange and there went my whole cities broadband

  4. 0:30 'If you don't break things sometimes they keep working' – Lexy, 2024 – So true..

5:06 Looks familar might be milk or cream. Smells like it looks I guess. Please don't ask how I know…
7:10 CoolerMaster used to use these thermalpads back in the P4 era. Don't know where they got them form but I think the only could originate from hell. The only thing you can do is soak the stuck CPU in IPA and try to twist it gently off with pliers. Afterwards soak heatsink and CPU in IPA and try to scrape the remainig crap off with an old creditcard or plastic spatula and repeat so long til it's mostly off. You will never be able to get all of it off. It kind of melts to the heatsink and heatspreader forever and it's only a cosmetic problem. You can try to sand it off but if you don't get rid of most first it will cloak the even coarsest sandpaper like nothing else and that will took of the markings of the CPU for sure. It's a real pain in the you-know-what schedule at least 2-3 hours for that mess.

  5. 8:25 Wait, was this heatsink installed upside down? Because those look like the backs of the screws – they have grooves for the screwdriver – and also the point of those springs is to push the heatsink down against the processor, so…

  6. So motherboards are often 6 layers, sometimes 8.
You can fix broken inner layers as long as it's not super high speed signals (e.g. ram/pcie)
Basically what you do is dremel out the pcb in stratas, so you have basically a stepped cone, and then you scratch off the epoxy on top of the layer you want to fix, then you tack a hair sized wire between the 2 sides of the crack, and solder it, then do it for all the tracks on the deepest layer, once you're done, add uv epoxy, and do the next layer.
Though 1) you're gonna mess your mobo up if it's your first time doing it.
    2) if you get a professional to do it, it's probably only worth for like a 4080 gpu or higher, and even then it's probably cheaper to get one with a burned gpu chip and do a transplant, just buy a new mobo, it'll be cheaper.

Usually it only makes sense to repair a pcb with more than 4 layers if you can't get a new one, and if you're in an application (that's not legacy systems) where you're going to need to repair like that, you're usually gonna want to use mezzanine connectors and 2 layer pcbs.
