That gas regulator is known as a “zero pressure governor”. It should not allow gas flow into the engine intake until the sense line senses vacuum from the engine when cranking. The governor valve maintains the gas flow to always be slightly below manifold vacuum. The solenoid valve is a backup to assure no gas flow is possible unless the engine is running
Hey Sam, get some Molly based dry lubricant and spray all the the sections of the boom really well. That's what we used to lubricate the booms on telehandlers when I worked in the forklift industry. It clings to the surfaces really well, and doesn't collect dirt.
LOL @ Spaceballs reference in the edit.
G'day mate
She looks beautiful. Well done.
Sam, I believe that’s the VAPORIZER, which takes the liquid propane and vaporizes it to a gas before it enters the engine
Hey Sam,is that the same one Diesel Creek Matt looked at a year ago ?
Great deduction and fixes by the way.
Glad to watch your channel grow.
Great video. again.! Just repair that door latch!
So you’re actually a crane mechanic
same with greasing front axles pivit pin on tractors ,take the weight off so grease can get to the top of pin
Don't forget to ground the vaperator/reg to the body
Nice crane with a little work. Thanks for the videos.
You can use wide band o2 sensor to fine tune this system
You look a bit like Steve Goodman. Let's hear you sing "City of New Orleans" 😉
Great diagnosis and repair. The sellers will want their crane back when they see how a well it is running with some basic maintenance and a few repairs.
Found my way here via Matt at Diesel Creek, he said I would like it here too, and he was 100% correct.
Many thanks
David in the UK.
maybe you should have washed the engine bay before working in the eninge bay
I have a manual for that truck.
what is the purpose of that soft drink can down behind the motor and fire wall.
Heavy ends from the propane will collect over time in the evaporator. It will cause it to run rough and stall. It's a normal occurrence
How many different piston configurations, gass systems, and electrical systems are there? Nobody can know them all.
Looks like ya got it sorted bro, and ya gave it a hot shower before bed, that's love right there. Safe travels. Ken.
This waaay over my head. Thumbs up any way.
That is one fierce Flag Pole / Cherry Picker you got there
If you run some LED tape along the boom you’ll have a subtle yard light as well 😊
And love to see that wood chipper run might take that over by Matt to clean up all those branches he has and he not working anymore on that 3 pt hitch leaf blower maybe you should take and Do it
How about making a pad maybe asphalt for a wash pad to degrease
The sequencing process of your thinking is what needs to be instilled in today's apprentice technitians. Simply removing and replacing parts is only 1/2 of what needs to be learned. It is so sad that high schools throughout America don't understand the need to teach a saleable skill to our kids. This is a perfect example of the thought process involved in fixing anything. Not everyone is going to sit in front of a computer screen.
Fantastic great logical diagnostics …you have yourself a great machine now.
Have you thought about putting a 354 perkins in your Terex
Could you do a side by side with Matt’s jib crane that would be a cool video to see
Dam good job
The LMI is not happy because the Anti-Two Block is disconnected.
Nice machine.
Ran a lot of Baldersons.
TGP
Awesome machine ya got there 👌🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
You usually gap plugs closer for propane. I think Continental recommended .035 for gasoline and .020 for propane. I think the timing was advanced a few degrees too.
Nice find, Sam. Color me impressed!
Just because Matt over at Diesel Creek gets a crane so do you. LOL playing keep up with Matt.
Good job Sam, great job on the content as well.
Adding a remote kit to it will be an awesome addition to that crane Sam! Cannot wait to see that episode!
Relief valve on Out piston, when fully extended, becomes feed pressure for Down piston ?
Refreshing to see the ongoing transformation of this old iron into a usable piece of machinery. Canot wait until you finish your upgrades and see it in use. I wonder if Matt @ Diesel Creek is jealous?
That's a really handy tool to have at the shop Sam well done 👍
