  1. Why do you think that you might be the only one that has ideas for shops? I think that it is great to have ideas, but don't you think that shop owners aren't already doing this? I can tell you that I am a shop owner, and some of these ideas I have been doing for over 20 years! I'm also quite sure that I'm not the only shop that will make changes to "see" what happens. So, please don't think that you are the only one putting thought into all of this, because you'd be fooling yourself otherwise'.

I think it's great that folks are passionate about cycling and have ideas that they want to share, but if those same folks don't work in the industry, they are only seeing "part" of the equation. I always wondered if people that were interested in music, or theatre do the same thing? Is it the same in the automotive industry to any other field in general? My point is that at least hereron Youtube, once someone brings up an idea and gets "views" or subscriptions from it, then others follow suit simply because of $$. Sometimes this person will come up with another idea, but more often than not, they are simply repeating the same thoughts that others have already done.

Lastly, i truly wanted to watch your video, unfortunately it kept cutting out and the picture was sideways… and after a few minutes, I simply gave up. Happy New Year and hope that you enjoy many great miles on your bike this upcoming season!

  2. Good ideas regarding directions independent bike shops need to go – as the brands have shifted to "direct to consumer" sales, servicing should become a major focus – whether in terms of maintenance or in building up bicycles folks buy directly (lots of folks don't want to deal with putting their new bikes together, but will pay to have it done). Your ideas regarding buying and reconditioning used bicycles to put up for sale at moderate prices strikes me as addressing an untapped and potentially profitable market, particularly with the current high prices of new bikes.

  3. Companies don't wanna hear this but they've gotta literally mark their last 3 model years down 75% just to build up a new market of riders who've actually ridden and experienced a high quality machine.

A large swath of their potential market have never even ridden a 2k$ rig much less a 9k$ rig and are happy to stay away.

Bite the bullet and give them away and think long term. They've got to build up a new market of riders + promote the benefits of a cycling lifestyle similar to golf or surfing

  4. Good day, Eh¿

Let me critique you a bit, or tweak you if that is what you prefer.

    1. A business's public image is of ultra importence 16:47 , do you agree?

    And so, that is you!
What is your image to the world, an active advent cyclist who rides the products he sales and services, or do you look more like an inactive over eating, pot bellied pig who drinks too much alcohol?

According to google, you work out of your home's garage, right?

So, Considering that you do not have an actual commercial storefront to mask other deficiencies, your public appearance is more important than ever.

    Look the life
Be the life blood of your business.
