Hey mate! Have to give you feedback, this was the most PERFECT vid: how to do. There was absolute 0% of extra bs, just straight from point a to point b💪💪💪 Cheers from Finland🇫🇮, now i know how to do mine peugeot 107 with confidence😄 PS:result was brilliant☀☀
Anyone tried these 2k clears..? How long do they ACTUALLY last? 🤔🤔
Would love to see the results after a year standing in the SUN. Wonder how it will hold up to the Suns UV rays. They usually yellow headlights in no time.
No such thing is THE BEST in this particular matter mate.
I thought 7 yrs ago that I found THE BEST product, as a matter of fact still do, only Not The Best, but one of the Amazingly GOOD ones.
It is 《LIGHT Rite》kit back then [7 yrs ago]was $19.99 online now it is gone Up…to near $30.
Prep nearly identical WETsanding by hand ONLY 600 grit sand paper in perpendicular strokes till all milky wite, mineral spirit wipe and spray outta ONE CAN of Light Rite. And you're DONE.
…not quite though…. a must have condition should be at hand – MOST INTENSE UV Light exposure for Curing.( hense my reasoning for reducing THE BEST to ONE OD GOOD Ones.
If all done accoring instructions – my restored head lights on both Mercedeses still crystal clear after 7 yrs.
Good video brother… informative and well done.
Cheers!
Great work man – top notch.
AMAZING end result !!!! Instead 2k clear there are a number of headlight lacquer products for poly carb. Some channels sware blind not go 2k but specific headlight clearcoat ( for poly carb plastics etc ) … I don’t know what to think. I go onto 1500 grit and then 3000 Trizact (3m) and use finish on headlight compound polish and a UV wipe. 3m. This seams fine for well over a year and they look very well maintained rather than brand new. Haven’t sprayed one yet but do intend too. I use g360 also on wool. Soft wool
My headlights are not as bad as in any of these videos, so my main question is do you still start with the exact same method with the roughest sandpaper and so on?
When Spray. Go straight Lines. At the end you want have any orangpeele to remove
just buy a new light lens simple………
Perfect
i restore headlights for side job i do all the prep then i either use vapor kit or compond and polish then a 5 year ceramic coating … i defo do want to try 2k clear coat at some point awesone video 🤙
Should only use 2k clear formulated specifically for headlights – more flexibility. Regular 2k clear is too hard and unyielding which may result in cracking and crazing over repeat hot and cold thermal cycles. Lots of YouTube videos showing what happens when you use regular 2k clear over polycarbonate lens. For example, Spraymax has a self priming 2k clear for headlights helps prevent cracking and crazing.
Deep Woods Off bug spray, done!
very good results, thanks for sharing!
Another great video going on my saved list, did my mini like this but didnt use a 2k laquer has been chameleon tinted since, hope that stops the UV a bit!!!!.
Very useful video thanks.
Your method is NO different to 95% of the other procedures shown on YT.? Yet you make a claim that "they dont last" ? Whats different about your method that makes yours last ?? 🤔
the clickbating thumbnail makes me angry, why do you show what seems to be an unprepared surface, unmasked unprotected car, ready to be sprayed on? sry but not watching
What mask are you using whilst spraying the 2k clear coat
Is that water spray that you used the most before using sandpaper, or something else?
Absolutely spot on I did pretty much the same thing a few years ago only using Poundland lacquer 🤩 an it’s still looking pretty good today 😎😎😎😎
Great tutorial. Thnx mate.
Good tip about warming the can, especially during the winter, I usually stand it on the hall radiator for 15 minutes before shaking again and using. Lovely finish buddy 👍😁
