  1. Now they are owned by an evil dictator – gone from one extreme to the other 😂
Most entitled and delusional fanbase in English football!!
Always prefered Sunderland anyways – proper club with great history

  2. At the time of the sale Fraser Group Share price was 3.50, it’s now 8.80; market cap 3.7bn. Ashley made the right move in exiting. PIF has had to put in piles of cash on which it will never get a massive return.

  3. While I am a fan of Newcastle and I tore many chuncks of hair out because of how he ran the club because of this we could spend big in the first windows under the Saudis. While it's also unpopular he did get the club back into the black as Freddy Shepherd had all but bankrupted us and we were heading for administration so we should have a small (very small amount of gratitude for that). Having said that, he took far more from the club £25m a season allegedly went straight into his pocket and only kept us so long as we were advertising for his shit stores. He promised so many times the manager could spend everything the club earned but that never happened. If anyone's club is ever taken over by this walking void you have my deepest sympathies

  4. Ashley cut every down to the bone. Minimal sponsorship so he could freely advertise his own company. One man at the club to cover every role (penfold). Left the infrastructure to rot. Decided it was cheaper to offer new contracts to existing players than get better ones. Club stagnated. He may have balanced the books but he left the club an empty shell

  5. 14 years of misery. Supporting Newcastle during FCB's tenure was soul destroying. Non Newcastle fan friends ask why Ashley was unpopular on Tyneside….it always took 10 minutes to just give the highlights. He'd wake up in the morning and wonder: "How can I piss off half a million Geordies today?" . Thank God Amanda "got it done".

  6. They didn't fail, they were ran very well but Saudi United fans aren't ready for the truth that they were a rich club because of how they're run when there's actual bad owners (Leeds multiple times, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackpool etc.) But shhh facts aren't allowed against the Saudi sympathisers

  7. I think lots of sets of fans complain about their owners. So the fact that Mike Ashley was widely regarded by other fanbases as probably the worst owner in the Prem at his time says a lot.

  8. From employment tribunal’s with managers and former players of his treatment of them plus his wall of silence and disconnect between the club and it’s fanbase was abhorrent. He asset stripped the club from top to bottom which irritated fans when people tell us to thank him for it Which is half the problem we have now.
He never funded the women’s side at all it was the clubs charitable foundation, he reduced funding to the academy at all levels and sold off any decent players from under the managers feet, not replaced them and hit the self destruct button. Then there’s the appalling way he treated former players and legends of the club Let alone sodding off to the Bahamas to where the manager was asked on a transfers or if he had a transfer budget for the window and the reply was “I don’t know”. The club was rotten to the core, neglected at every level and the fans at war with the ownership , they stopped going to the fans forums too.

We are now in a peculiar position stuck between a bad legacy ownership and trying to progressive ambitious one having to start from scratch and improve at every level which is going to take time and patience. The ptsd of his ownership is still a chain around us. Ashworth wasn’t there long enough to put the foundation blocks in place so we need someone who can do that from the ground up. Hopefully Paul Mitchell can be that man for longer than a year and a half

  9. Not even a Newcastle fan and I hate Mike Ashley. What he did to their club was disgusting, literally turned it into a relegation battling team when they were once one of the top clubs in England. So happy to see the back of him. Sports Direct can do one too.

  10. Well I believe it is going that way again. Forced the two best directors of the club out and got a lesser person to take place of so called director of football. Sadly I believe worse to come.

  11. Well constructed video, as a toon fan Mike Ashley was a cancer on our club and shouldn't be anywhere near a football club. He should stick to flogging cheap clothes. I think when he first bought the club he wanted us to succeed but when he realised he couldn't compete financially with other PL clubs and the fans turned on him, he had no interest in the club. The writing was on the wall when Keegan left.

  12. Fourteen years Ashley owned Newcastle, and all it became was a club striving for mediocrity with no hope of ambition!
It was no surprise when Rafa left the way he did!

  13. Don’t get me wrong Ashley wasn’t good for nufc but at least he reinvested the money to get the club up and stay up in the prem. we ( Sunderland ) have had owners who didn’t care, stole parachute payments, lied to us, sold our club bar to our hated rivals. All the while relegating us to league one for 4 years, to our worst position in the clubs 145 year history. They complain but they’ve never had to put up with what we have had to in the last 10 years, I also think you should do one of these about Safc

  14. Upvote for me,a football fan outside the Toon Army, who actually gets the club ! 👌👍

Those archival footage of early (clear-shaven) True Geordie rants were amazing and the original Staveley-Reuben-PIF takeover team wanted Rafa back, but by then,he had signed (unfortunately) to Everton. 😐

  15. Rio Ferdinand has always been a hoop, licker, especially for Ashley, with who he had a commercial deal.
Strange how as a pundit he routinely criticises the owners of Man United, but never rounds his money up to buy them. The man is a tw@.

  16. Appoints ex England manager and gives him £100 million quid over 6 months – clubs would kill for that! Get relegated, keep Rafa have the highest salary bill by 3 times in the championship and lends the club £90 million to get promoted (something Halls and Shepherds would never do). Rafa spends £170 million and £70 million of players never play! Then true football man Rafa shoots off to China for £13 million a year to build a club for 10,000 fans! Ashley knows nowt about football that’s why Rafa ran riot – All clubs can’t wait to get rid of him! Look at Graham Care’s signings and compare with Rafa’s!
