When kitted out the new M4 powered iPad Pro can look an awful lot like a MacBook. Even the price will fool you! And yet as Jonathan explains, it is most definitely still an iPad

  1. Ipad pro's should have a dedicated OS that is similar to their actual computers. If you don't need the power of a macbook pro but want better portability than the macbook air then you would pick the ipad pro. It would fill the performance gap between the air and pro models of the macbook, having the current gen of apple silicon like the macbook pro but a cut down version of it, while the macbook air's have the full fledged last gen silicon, and be priced accordingly

  2. I just want to know who among us customers wants things thinner and thinner? Never in my life have I heard someone say "I wish this was thinner". They should make it THICKER so we can have a better battery and a sturdier construction (and a flippin head phone jack!). Thats actually what we want as far as I can tell.

  3. I’ve always been annoyed that videos like this completely miss the most common consumer base for the iPad; people who will always have a work laptop and just use their iPad for the internet, watching content, photography, and hobbies.

  4. I have a macbook pro 14 and iPad Pro M2 11" and I wanted so much to replace both of them with 13" iPad OLED but I just can't. I think iPad is literally CRIPPLED on purpose by Apple. Maybe some day, but right now there's not a single use case where I could benefit from switching to next gen ipad pros.

  5. Can’t wait for the next episode of ‘this device is too good and simply not good enough’.
It’s almost as if the audience for this channel is not people that use apple products, but LTT PC gamers instead. That couldn’t be.

  6. I rely on my 2018 Pro a LOT for drawing on the go and even a lot of actual work (procreate is just too darn good). But I often hit the ceiling of it’s capabilities, mainly when working with prints in the A2 size the poor thing can only manage about 15 Layers. Not enough by a long shot. But justifying the upgrade is hard, because the price is just so steep. If mine ever breaks I’ll probably get a new one but until then, for bigger works, dedicated Graphics Tablet it is. Even though I miss my procreate workflow on other programs haha

  7. I used to use my 6th gen iPad as my main computer for high school, and it worked great for me then, but since I graduated and moved on to university it has been almost completely replaced by my MacBook Pro. I'm a CS major so I need to do a lot of programming which isn't really feasible on an iPad because of iPadOS. It's still fantastic for taking notes, and I use it along with a bluetooth page turner for when I'm performing music, but aside from those two use cases there isn't really anything else that it's good for anymore. I'm considering upgrading it since it won't be getting iPadOS 18, and the Math notes feature seems like it'll be SUPER useful when it's ready, but that's really the only thing driving me to upgrade so if I do, it'll probably just be to the base model iPad.

  8. I don't want MacOS on the iPad. I want the iPad to be fully usable in its own way with its own professional apps as the only computer.

Make the iPad so good that the MacBook becomes fully unnecessary. Of course, it's not in Apple's financial interests to do that because they want you to buy both.
