  1. Kristen has a point here. Stop giving parents excuses to not monitor their damn kids on the internet. Letting your kid roam free on the internet is the same as letting them run free in the outside world alone, without knowledge or guidance. They're bound to talk to strangers with strange candy that have ill intentions. Prepare them for that, they should trust you over some rando internet stranger and see the signs of something that seems… off. Also, it's just good parental practice. You don't have to hover over them 24/7, but you can review their stuff and restrict where necessary.

Just… be a parent. It's hard, but that's the job!

  2. You can disable the web search results from the Start menu in Windows 11 with Group Policy Editor. I had to enable/disable a buttload of policies but my search and Start menu is now free of web results.

Also there are browser extensions to remove YouTube Shorts.

  3. It's always better to read the book. Much more info, much more logic in why someone is doing what they do. I mean tv show Foundation is nothing like the books. TV show took parts of the books and mixed them, they made interesting tv show but if you read all the Asimov's books…I Robot included…🤷‍♂️

  4. Who the Holy Hell gives any two shits about iMessage outside of people who use eye phones? God, I am so sick of hearing about Blue Bubble vs Green Bubble. Newsflash… no one cares! Not you guys, you're awesome. Just the fact that this is in the headlines at all is irritating.

  5. As a parent I monitor everything my kids do online. Pi-hole captures the URLs at a minimum. They don’t have phones so all traffic goes through WiFi where they are on a specific vlan w/ parental filters setup. I do not hide any of this from them and made them aware. It’s not that I don’t trust them, I don’t trust the internet.

Parents that don’t monitor their children are setting them up to be exposed to many things way to early, if ever. But I guess I’m the odd one because they won’t ever be allowed on social media and phones won’t be allowed until they’re driving.

  6. Nothing pulled the iMessage integration when it was pointed out that this allows the company to read all of your iMessages and messages were stored in unprocted firebase database.

  8. There's quite a fan fiction chronology that exists for Ghibli. One can make the argument that there is a "universe" all the stories exist within that overlaps known human history.

  9. Ay yo tech people, whaddya think ya doing there hosting a show in my front lawn. Oh no, I was just about to light up the grill! Have a few beers… you know, I love you guys.

  10. Some Amazon home kits come with everything but if you read the reviews they have terrible wood and missing parts. Sears did the same thing back when they were a thing, with better quality and results. There are many Sears homes still standing around the country and sites that list them if you want to see one in your area.
