What do I think? Metroid Prime 4 will come out March 2026. Why? Tears of the Kingdoms first trailer ended with a black screen that said 2022. Then it came out May 12, 2023. The last Nintendo Direct said Metroid Prime 4 is "planned" for a 2025 release. 2026 it is. Sorry folks.

Will probably get HD Remasters of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and Prime 3 Corruption for the Switch before Prime 4 gets a new trailer, we could also get a HD version of Metroid Samus Returns for the Switch with Fusion mode and all the Amiibo blocked content unlockable without the need for Amiibos.
We will wait another 10000 years for a new trailer
At this point a new 2D Metroid game will probably be announced before Prime 4 is released.
I always see people say it makes no sense to launch Prime 4 with the Switch 2 because it's not a big seller, but I think that's a bit short-sighted.
Zelda was more popular, but most of its games sold between 4 – 6 million copies. But being a launch title for a popular system & being so critically praised, it skyrocketed the franchise into new popularity.
Maybe Nintendo wants to leverage the Switch 2 launch to do the same thing with Metroid. Also, Prime 4 doesn't have to be the ONLY major Nintendo-made game on launch day.
In the past, we used to get multiple 1st party games to launch a system (trying to appeal to multiple audiences) with several more shortly after. GC launched with Wave Race & Luigi's Mansion, then a couple weeks later Pikmin & Smash Melee dropped on the same day (I think).
Maybe Nintendo could launch with Prime 4 Switch 2 edition AND a new Mario or Mario Kart. It wouldn't be that weird & may help Metroid become another more popular IP.

I don't believe in an august direct. I think most other hypotheses hold.
In the Switch 2 reveal makes sense so does it at TGAs. Maybe they are one and the same too ? December would be late enough to not hurt holiday sales too much and they would get a lot of attention.
Also I personally expect Prime 4 to be a cross-gen Switch 2 launch title, the Switch version would really seem like a mostly useless token afterwards if it were to release after the new console. The dream would be for the same cart to be compatible with both consoles and in that case I guess communication could be delayed for long.
I think it SHOULD be day and date launch with Switch 2. It just has too many eerie parallels with BOTW. It was developed during an entire generation, took 5 years, they went hush hush on it for most of that time.
Really hope MP4 BEYOND can sell at least 5m. Metroid is almost 40yo franchise it's kinda pathetic none of the games can sell 5m. Another proof Nintendo fans dont buy other games besides Mario Pokémon Smash.

Tbh, I think it’s gonna be a dual release on switch and switch 2 as a launch title around April or June. Just makes sense.
Definitely not going to see it until right before release.
Either way im fine. It's already a massive relief not having the shadow of this game looming over every direct.
Maybe in the next direct or maybe at TGAS, but next trailer will definitely be hype!!!!!

I think will see a new Metroid Prime 4 trailer before the end of this year maybe even in a September Direct.

The next time we see Metroid Prime 4, my man Andre will have 44K subscribers already. And he will have 50K subscribers when Switch 2 is available in stores.
The question remains: when will mp4 launch? The recent rumors are saying the switch 2 console will be delayed to mid 2025.
The sales on switch 1 alone won’t do enough to surpass dread since everybody moving on from switch.
I reckon they’ll confirm the release date in the next Direct. I should think it’ll be March.
