“wonderful world”

One of my favorite things from my childhood was my Nintendo DS lite. Which through its life has seen quite a bit of use, which is clearly visible. But because I still want to play it from time to time I have decided that I’m going to try and bring it back to its former glory. I have never done…

  1. I like the contrast of yellow buttons to black. Too bad there's a little bit of a gap around them, but maybe the sponginess could be fixed by adding a bit of material behind it? 🤔

  2. When I was around 8, my mom bought both me and my brother 2ds's with a pre-installed copy of the Hoenn gen 6 games. My brother had Ruby, and I had Sapphire. At the time, our respective favorite colors were red and blue, and it was cool that my mom recognized that. I played Sapphire so much, and took care of my pokemon like they were my children. I remember having nearly every single one on my team to maximum affection. One day, I lost that 2ds. I looked and looked, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I forgot about it for 2 or 3 years, and only remembered it when I saw my cousin playing on his 2ds. When I went to look for mine, it was in the first place I checked. It even turned on lol. 9 years later, and I have a modded 3ds xl, and tried to recreate my team as best I could.

  3. As someone who works on electronics quite a lot and can YOLO these repairs, seeing someone who doesn't usually work with electronics is very entertaining!

BTW, those DS batteries are bulletproof, I've been using my DSi a lot, and the battery is still good to play for hours, it's crazy that 16 year old battery is able to function at all.
I actually have 2 DSis, one is a pink one from Japan, and the other is black from Europe. I switch buttons on them, so now I have pink DSi with black accents, and a black DSi with pink accents. Both look really nice, and buttons feel nice.

Also, common issue on I believe all DS series of consoles is the shoulder buttons, because they use tact switches, which are not designed for intensive use, and mine failed twice on each console. They can be revived with alcohol, ideally you'd disassemble them, but it's very hard to do, so you can just spray them with alcohol, and press it a lot.

  4. I have pokemon emerald or something like that if you want i will send it to you for free, but you pay the delivery, i know that you live in slovenia so am i so it wont be an problem

  5. I had an SP and was very fond of sapphire as well! My favorite GBA game growing up was Zelda Minish Cap, and favorite DS game was easily pokemon platinum. I still have my pre-order Giratina figure as well! Awesome video as always, was interesting seeing something other than car content!

  6. I am SO glad that weird clickbait restoration era on YT has largely died out. There was seemingly no end to the amount of PlayStations found on the side of the road or cars dredged up from the Mariana trench, but the weirdest trend I remember seeing was people painting TIRES to make them look new. Have some class, LOL.

  7. Never had any game consoles (not allowed to but not really interested either), but really enjoyed your video! It is much more entertaining than the staged and almost "feature film" ones that are usually made on YT!
I did recently pick up a console – a PS Vita 2000 from Japan. Since it can play PSP games it is quite fun sometimes and the library is huge. And a lot more waifu games hahah. Came in handy when went on vacation and had a 9h wait in the airport!

  8. I fucked up my ds when i was i think 13 or 14. The L or R button disnt work. Got a new one but somting in me was like: hey its already broken so might as well try to fix it. And some how it maniged to fix it. sinds then that has been my attitude with all electronics
