I know the oled is a nicer screen but I decided to get the standard steamdeck just because I have to import it to my country because valve doesn't directly sell it in NZ 😢 so it was like $300NZD cheaper for the non oled 512gb version – honestly I'm okay with LCD, yes it has a worse wifi card but I personally feel like $300NZD is not worth it personally – I'm so excited for it to arrive though I have to wait like 1-2 weeks for it to arrive though but I'm looking forward to it

Yes the battery is only 10w bigger but also a OLED screen consume way less energy than a LCD so im not surprised valve says you get around 50% more battery total
They're focused on the user experience, that's what I love abt this compared to other handhelds.

12:47 is the major reason that I went for a Steam deck.
Most PC gamers already have enough games on Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, Gog, Battlenet, Rockstar and Origin accounts that they will have potientally years of gameplay without buy anything else (+ emulation is a doable thing as well).
Valve (rip SEGA) does what Nintendon't.

When my steam deck oled is in desktop mode and I drag the cursor across the touchscreen, it opens translucent blue boxes that can highlight things. Thats all it’s doing now, it was fine and then I think I hit a button or something and now that’s what it’s doing. How can I get it back to normal?

Wild how the switch lives rent-free in the minds of steam fans. I see too many coping on any forum. Both gaming instruments serve different purposes and have different audiences. You can buy whichever you fancy, but you shouldn't spout blatant lies that either of these products suck. Both are great products 👍

I got a used 512 gb lcd model from gamestop and the steam deck is much better than the switch. I can play my steam games, use emulators to play older games, and have the ability to use it like a laptop/desktop.
I don’t understand the argument about 1st party Nintendo titles only being on switch. Like sure they get them but steam gets literally every other 1st party title and just about every other game ever made. Furthermore Nintendo first party titles just arnt that great and there isn’t many of them. Sure BOTW and TOTK are good. That’s about it. Pokémon is in shambles. Switch is pretty much a console that I can play Mario kart on. That’s it

bigest problem fir me is size, steamdeck is soo big and uncoforteble to hold, i cant imagine pick up it from home and play on the way with this big machine, nintendo switch is soo nice designet with amazing small size, performace is bad but the size and portability is on the switch side. I hope seitch 2 this year change the game

Not sure if it just doesn’t come through on a phone screen, but the LCD image here looks preferable. It’s richer and darker. There’s a white sheen over the OLED pic.
Maybe that’s just HDR, but I’ve also heard the anti-glare etched glass on the 1TB model diminishes the color vibrancy of the screen.
