  1. You have to understand that the goal of Xi and the CCP is not to build a strong economy….it is to stay in power. He can readily accept a weak economy and endure hardships hence his "eat bitterness" comment to the youth. Stimulating the economy is simply not the goal.

  2. This lady is smart about covid. Covid killed 6% of Indian population which is 75 million. Priest told me 7% increase in crematorium. My extended family death was 10% out 500 members. Poor segment population deaths were not even recorded. Only rich had access to oxygen tanks for survival .India govt hid this information because people would be angry and demand war with china. After covid deaths, Indian economy boomed because less population means less wealth fair burden.I believe alot of countries hid the real death rate numbers.

  3. people here don't understand anything abouty China, western brainwashing . China is growing at 5 %, the USA at 2. Who's economy is abysmal? Think for yourself.

  4. Xi's predicament on the financial economy, evokes similarities with Putin's predicament on the political economy. They both adhere, to fundamentally erroneous dogma. Xi doesn't embrace the validity of lean government, free market economics. Putin does not believe in genuine plural democracy. This leads to a dysfunctional financial economy in China and a dysfunctional political economy in Russia. These fundamentally erroneous dogmatic beliefs have the effect of sowing the seeds of failure into the geopolitical agendas of both these misguided leaders and is why I'm convinced their respective downfalls are only a matter of time.

  5. I posted this comment before watching the video.
I think Xi DOESNT KNOW how to fix an economy.
What did you expect from an elementary school graduate?
And I bet he paid his way through 1+1=2 school

  6. I have a question Lei while I was living in china last 3 years AliExpress not showing the real prices they are inflate it and show the mainland china unreal prices like as one pair shoes if 5usd it is showing in mainland 55usd, if I use VPN I can see the real prices, I left from china and right now taobao doing same or they not show the product. What are they targeting with this issue???

  7. Well I’m a bit sceptical on very high covid deaths. Even if covid hit China harder than western countries it tends to kill older people so shouldn’t affect the birth rate by much.
I suspect that china is going through an economic depression similar to the USA in the 1930s. This is probably putting the fear of death (not literally!) into both consumers and young couples. Are you going to spend a gazillion yuan on a handbag if people you know are having difficulty putting food on the table? Are you likely to plan to start a family? Logically most people will delay that till the economy improves. I used to teach Chinese students in England about 10 years ago. They kind of boasted about how expensive property was in China compared with the uk. (And the uk was not and is not cheap). Yet China is an inexpensive country where you can live quite well on say $1200 per month and certainly the majority of the Chinese people live okay on a lot less than that. So clearly (and I’m not being original) the property price to median income multiple in China is/ was totally bazonkers. It was crazy a decade ago. But if I mentioned to my then students that prices might fall they just couldn’t and wouldn’t accept it.
Well they have fallen and the upshot is that loads of people previously comfortable are now a lot less comfortable. And I believe this problem is massive and affects the whole Chinese economy directly and indirectly. And china has loads and loads of issues to deal with yet seems to be preoccupied with all kinds of irrelevant nonsense. Foreign spies, Japanese nuclear waste, Taiwan, Scarborough shoal whatever it’s basically absurd and infuriating.

  8. I survived lockdown in China and I think assumption about low birth rate is wrong. Lockdown can have negative impact on birth rate, as people in big cities normally don't want to have babies in such an unpredictable situation as COVID lockdown. Also we are talking about relatively young people, who already had trend to choose a single life before lockdowns started. While lockdowns it was almost impossible to predict will you be able to go out to see a doctor or buy some food tomorrow. It varies depend on city, but it was pretty hard to survive.

Young Chinese citizens are smart and educated enough to understand that childbirth in declining economy and endless lockdowns can lead to a huge financial and health risks for a family.

Also i have to remind that zero-covid policy lead to abnormal increase in divorces in ma many countries, so in fact trends were the opposite. Staying together 24/7 is hard

  9. Understand the west is not attacking China, we are only making our own country stable. You & Xi see it as an attack, Xi especially & he attacks back. So we increase protection & so the cycle continues. We are not going broke, where is the problem???😮

  10. Let's talk real, not bulldust.
WASHINGTON, July 16 — The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday revised China's 2024 economic growth up to 5 percent in an update to its World Economic Outlook (WEO), from the 4.6-percent forecast in April.17 Jul 2024
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) lowered its 2024 outlook for the U.S. economy by 0.1 percentage points Tuesday for expected annual growth of 2.6 percent.16 Jul 2024. 😊

  11. Chinese stopped buying luxury brands and eating out?
Shows how much you know. There are plenty of luxury brands in the city I work in and the malls are always busy.
    Restaurants are always busy.
Chinese citizens are not into stock markets. They save their money.
Hospitals ordered to destroy records. SHOW THE EVIDENCE INSTEAD OF JUST SPECULATING.
Kindergartens are not that expensive. In Beijing the cost is around 500 RMB a month.
Kindergarten enrolment is falling in the U.S too. Same with Japan and S.Korea.
Education is free for 15 years in China after Kindergarten level. Most private kindergartens are subsidised although not by much.
University students do not leave saddled with debts unlike the U.K or U.S.

  12. He is not a Finance mngt, he thinks he is, but he is not. He is dictator & he is only told what he wants to hear. My question to you is, why do you follow him??? Seems you know it's going down hill, but you-all keep doing the same thing!!!! Only going to finish in one place

  13. Xi Jin Ping is trying to do a Mao & make a mark in history – only to preside in CHINA'S political & economic failure in the world order.
    Good-bye.
He will be consigned to the dustbin in history.
The whole world knows CCP's ambitions for political & economic hegemony.

  14. There are only three YouTubers I trust with real news about China and you are definitely at the top. I hope you know we all appreciate your hard work and insights

  15. On the question of why clothes are the wrong size these days, another YouTuber (sorry, don’t remember who) explained that a lot of it is down to so called “fast fashion”, which dictates very few different sizes, to produce things so quickly and maintain such thin inventory.

  16. I'm not sure I agree about Covid-19 having much of an influence on the sudden decline in kindergarten enrollments. Look at the start date for the 1-child policy. We have just hit the beginning of the reproductive years for the second generation born under this policy. That alone can easily account for the decline. You're looking at a restricted reproductive pool, then restricted again, then restricted again. The number of people who are the right age to have children is vanishingly small compared to China's total population.

Then look at when the 1-child policy was loosened to 2, and then 3. The Family Planning Commission knew what was coming and tried to take action to avert it back in 2018. If they had succeeded in lifting the birth rate then (they didn't), you wouldn't see the declines we are seeing now.

The Covid-19 statistics out of China are a fabrication but it wasn't nearly as severe as some outside commentators believe. I personally know no one who died of it in China (I was there) and my in-laws tell me that only a few elderly people in their village died. None of the people who died there were of reproductive age.

  17. Thank you for this analysis! How, I would like to point that in order to have a clear picture, we have to analyze any cause and effect situation both ways. As an example, if you think A would happen because XYZ, we have to look the other way around too: if XYZ happened, only A could happen or also B, C etc.

  18. STOP LYING. I AM AN AMERICAN BUSINESS MAN WHO HAVE BEEN TO CHINA. THE CHINESE ECONOMY IS OUT PERFORMING EVERY WESTERN ECONOMY INCLUDING THE U.S ECONOMY.. CHINESE EXPORTS HAVE SURGED AND THEY HAVE A TRADE SURPLUS OF 1 TRILLION DOLLARS A YEAR..THIS IS CHINESE ECONOMY DATA.2024. Q1 5.3% AND Q2 4.7%. CHINESE DOMESTIC SAVINGS IS AROUND 19 TRILLION DOLLARS.. THE U.S Q1 2.0% AND 3% GDP. THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE. THE U.S GOVERNMENT DEBT IS 35 TRILLION DOLLARS AND OUR TRADE SURPLUS IS 0. WE ARE RUNNING MASSIVE DEFECITS.. LYING ABOUT CHINA MAKES AMERICANS FEEL GOOD BUT CHINA IS NOT ONLY OUT COMPETETING US BUT IS LEADING IN 37 OUT OF 44 LEADING TECHNOLOGIES. AS AN AMERICAN, I WANT MY COUNTRY TO BE SUCCESSFUL BUT WE NEED TO STOP LYING TO OUR SELVES THAT OUR ECONOMY IS THRIVING AND THE CHINESE ECONOMY IS COLLAPSING EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS. STOP LYING.

  19. Workers are also consumers. Which negates classical theory on supply and demand. The CCCCP is probably quite content to lower the cycle and increase their leverage. After all, the only people addicted to (cheap) Chinese goods are in the West. A sort of Opium War in reverse.

  20. The Epoch times is certainly working hard to spread propaganda about China on Youtube.
Again you don't answer why what happens in China concerns you.

Chinese economy is not struggling in any way. CPI has increased as has manufacturing output. Industrial profits rose in July and in some sectors by over 4%
There has been a big increase in travel and has seen over 6% increase in rail journeys.
You are really clueless about what is happening in China and using biased information.
Xi is not responsible for the economy. There are branches of the government that deal with the economy.
Is Biden responsible for the US economy?
Where do you get this war time economy from? Do you think the U.S is not a war time economy? Always at war with some other country.
The United States spends more on national defense than China, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Germany, France, South Korea, Japan, and Ukraine — combined

  21. Xi realised 5 years ago that the property market which was over 30 pct of gdp was about to burst and cause a chaotic meltdown. His red lines with developer's has caused the property market to collapse but hasnt been a complete meltdown.secondly most policys are to make China less dependant on imports but dominate exports markets in certain fields like solar, evs etc which has kept the economy chugging along.

  22. Lie off topic, I see a spot on your neck. I have had several melanomas. The color of your spot is about the same color as my melanomas. You should have it checked if you haven't done so already . Melanomas are extremely dangerous.

  23. My understanding is that Xi does not care about the economy in China right now because his priority is to control the West Philippine Sea where the Trillion Dollar Wealth is located.
