There’s absolutely nothing with refusing to repair something especially if it’s out of your realm like this. I could not find any replacement parts anywhere so I figure its best to skip this one.
there is one simple rule to determine whether a repair ist justifiable
or not:
will the customer be able to keep this specific device running if i wont
make the repair? if no, wouldn't it be cheaper for the customer to just
buy a new one instead?
because, you could take the money fotr the repair, but it might be more
fair for the customer to just let them buy a new one (with warranty
etc).
but in this case, im not sure whether you could still charge this thing without its port. i would have tried to remove the epoxy and change the port.
Couldn't you just get a new one from snapon?
Snap-on tools are very expensive
How to make money repairing obscure technology:
1. Take it apart
2. Give it back
3. Make a video outlining Step 1
Scared to do the basics of opening the thing, im honestly not surprised you didnt get it repaired. Why even bother starting?
It's snap-on it has a lifetime warranty they just have to talk to the person on the snap-on truck and they'll give him a new one
For people who dont know what this is its a kind of computer that can be connected in the dvi port in a car its used to fix issues in the computer system of the car
Once you're down to board level what's the problem? Order the part & change it.
Wow, problem solving missing.
Imagine being stuck at lvl.1 forever 😬
as someone that's owned this I can tell you it's very straightforward. You pretty much just gave up free money and considering the cost of one of these things to send it in and get fixed you lost out on a lot of money.
But it's your business imagine the amount of stuff that would sent your way for fixing that, once the technicians find out you're willing to do it that thing makes us money. But if we can save a buck trying to get it fixed We will do that.
next time don't be scared.
It’s obd reader if anyone is wondering 😊
Send it to me
Board level repair is not for everyone, everyone 😆.
Why even buy that, my OBD2 can scan and relearn tpms sensor…
He said harder, not impossible, dudes a quiter
Fix it but overcharge them
This guy suqs
Skill issue
Wait was there a minecraft chest-open Sound?
Bruh no microsoldering???
If the battery is removable and the usb-c is juat used for charging. Just buy a clip-on external battery charger and an extra battery.
The greatest technition thats ever lived could prob fix this up for u
weak…
You can scrape it off
Scary ahh
So you're a company cannot work on any products that have waterproofing? You don't deserve to do business in this country you're a liar
It's snap on they'll fix it
Umm $2500 for a piece of unrepairable tech. Shame on Snap-On, thought they were the best name in the industry.
'That was incredibly scary' – removes some screws
literally any USB c connector would work, and anyone that fits the dimensions would fit in the case. The only downside is they would lose waterproofing. Send em to me lol I'll do it lol, but for real just tell em to go to snap on, they'll prob warranty it
So scary….
Why wouldn't they take it to snap on, the whole point of overpaying for their stuff is because when it breaks you get a new one or it gets fixed.
are you indian
seems to me your not a real repair tech..dude thats a basic repair even with the epoxy
I'd tell them that there are no proprietary replacements, and any replacements I would be doing might not work, for the safety of your scanner I can't fix it.
I mean to be fair. That's like a 2500 $3,000 computer on the low side so you could probably get a couple hundred bucks out of fixing it
It’s covered under SnapOn’s warranty…
SnapOn made in china device for $2500m
Time to give this to device to "The Greatest Technician That Ever Lived"
Its easy to see who knows literally nothing about tech repair in this comment section. And they are usually the ones glazing Salem Tech Repair
This is an easy fix… usb c it's a standard. If it just needs to charge, you have positive negative, and 2 sense lines to tell polarity of the usb of our even has the 2 polarity lines.
I respect you spread repair info but come on man this is an easy fix.
THE PHONE REPAIR GURU REPIARS SNAP ON TABLETS? THE ABSOLUTE KING OF ALL TIME, idk how open snap on is to right to repair, they replace my hand tools no questions asked but im curious if they are down to help, this is amazing
Dang it snap on. I thought they had warranty
Why over pay for snap on if your gonna take it to random youtube tech fixer buy a vevor
As a mechanic, these have always been overpriced pieces of garbage. They fail on you at the worst times and nobody can fix them. Not only that, but they are not user friendly. Had one take me over 2 hours to read fault codes, dying twice in the process. The feedback could sometimes take minutes to load. And the worst part, there is not a cheaper option.
