“Chip Stock Investor”

Data center AI servers, like the powerful systems Nvidia (NVDA) is developing, are creating some new engineering problems that need to be solved. Two of them are higher power delivery, and keeping computing systems cool so they perform at optimum levels. Nvidia has called out Vertiv (VRT) by…

  2. Your radiator question is pretty accurate. It’s like switching from the air-cooled VWs and cars of long ago to the liquid cooled radiator systems that are common in ICE vehicles and hybrids. I was thinking the same thing!

  3. Great, informative video. I actually didn't do much of a deep dive on financials when I first bought a small amount of this stock (around $20 a share), I just knew they had some AI torque. I haven't added to the position, but at these prices I think I'll just let that initial investment ride. Also did NOT know spin-offs were a vehicle to dump debt – the more you know!

  4. What will make the stock drop? What catalyst gets it back to a value play? Maybe a drop would indicate the company isn't run efficiently or other companies are better. There does seem to be a tailwind bc of the growth of data centers. Yesterday stock was up, volume pretty strong. What is the market seeing? If you want to participate with your own money, put on a collar to play next quarter earnings. Buy the August 105 call, buy the 105 put and sell 120 call to help fund the price of the Put. If stock drops you have the protective Put in place to get your money back. If stock kindly rises. adjust short call and sell some short puts below 105. Picking stocks is near IMPOSSIBLE, most fail at it most of the time. I like the story but all stocks are bad so play it safe until you know she's the marrying kind, lol. Thx for the high quality video and info.

  5. Interesting perspective on a competitor of Super Micro. I've considered investing in Vertiv and will keep this one on my radar. A closer look at the Vertiv balance sheet is next.

  6. I love this company. Nice sober analysis, minus the noise. I think the entire energy efficiency & power/cooling space is going to be far more important than most realize. I'm not surprised Nvida is invested in this space, they have to be. I'm excited to see who will solve the energy problem, or perhaps we will get incremental gains all around, and that will be enough to offset some of the problems. It's an exciting time to be alive. You'll never get around EROEI.

  7. Cooling chips would fall into the engineering topic of Heat Transfer.

Not to get too technical. Fluid can be air, water, other liquid. The goal is to get fluid to absorb heat from chip, transfer the fluid away from the chip, then dump the heat into the environment.
