  1. Always a good watch. Your humour and word choice par excellance. That conrod morphed into a sawzall!. And to humanise that— Jack the Ripper. Disembowelled mechanicals Vs organs. Lucky no blood here for the queezy of heart

  2. Has a proud older Mitsubishi's owner (98' Galant VIII SW GLS 2.0TD 378000Km and a 2000 Pinin 1.8 GDi 167000Km) , I can say they are reliable (correctly serviced with the best 100% synt oil and good filters) never open , the galant dont ever have a oil leak and the A/C gas is from origin . I was surprised to see a Mitsubishi engine , until I see it's a "lets go cheaper" consortium model , so no surprise , but It's quite possible that the owner drove another 100km after the engine blown to get home , no problems :3 ,Nice intro and outro 😉

  3. GEMA lasted until 2009 when Chrysler left. If you remember, all those engines were considered pretty reliable up until 2011 when the problems started up. To be fair, both Chrysler and Mitsubishi's GEMA blocks are still both pretty typical in the reliability department. The only one that went south fast and remains bad today is Hyundai. I don't care about any of the 3 companies but its pretty obvious to me whats going on here with Hyundai.

  4. Those pock marks to me look like detonation, which would make sense with the larger turbo you had mentioned and the evo being a popular tuner car. May even be what led to the rod letting go.

    edit:
big boost and not a high enough octane rating and/or too much timing
