Getting food is not "on duty". The food is not for the truck, it's for the driver. The truck will run just fine food or no food. So it's for the driver not the truck. Getting a new tire or an oil change IS for the truck.

Gaslighting at its finest. I would happily show up in court with an attorney and file a motion with the judge to sanction him and send him To remediation with a DOT compliance officer. He clearly has zero idea about hours of service.
