  1. What's happened there was a small blast created by the impact of the 2 glass balls. being 2 solid round objects, their surface area of impact is much smaller then something with more flex like a basket ball. A glass ball like that would only have roughly 3mm of surface impact. That small blast has enough light to admit through the glass balls…..kind of what a mantis shrimp does 🤷🏼‍♂️

  2. I love the science with Gaunson. His casual walk over to the fire with hay in hand was great. It was as satisfying as being allowed a fire poker stick. Which we all can admit. We had them burnt down to nothing by bed time.

  3. This has got to be the best you've ever done You've proven one thing that I don't see on any comments. if you remember during a lot of earthquakes you see light flashes. whatever you want to call it. it's the same thing The energy release by the glass breaking caused the flash. in an earthquake the light flashing is similar as the rock breaks or collides. You guys have at high speed 11,000 frames a second proving something that has been argued for at least 10 years
    Great job.

Somehow this needs to go viral to every earthquake specialist in the world

  4. Alright, this convinced me to turn on all notifications… I'm subscribed to about 700 channels, and I have all notifications turned on for about a dozen of them. That last slow-motion shot was insane. I'd love to see a collaboration with Gav, Dan, and Destin revisiting this.

  5. lucky to be alive and sighted. my god. every one of you 😛 the reason some military weapons have been outlawed is because they FLY. IN. CIRCLES. …let that sink in mate, fragments of a bowling ball, or tyrranosaurus for that matter! will not stop at a hay bale.

  6. I know that poor Rexy has always been your daredevil, but seriously boys, you have to start taking better care of him. One day you will destroy him beyond repair and he'll be gone forever. How will you feel then? A little judiciousness and you will have OG Rexy forever.

  7. This is the same thing that happens when you split a very hard stone, which is mostly comprised of Silica or SiO2. You can smell the thermic reaction, and feel some of the residual heat, for a brief moment. Though this time, we can actually see it. AMAZING!

  8. I feel like 70 smithing is way to high a req for repairing it. 70 smithing on an iron man is quite the grind in its own right. Why not just go straight for whip from dscim rather than grinnd of 70 smithing idk how long 70 smithing takes on an iron but gathering and making bars ect. I doubt is very fast. Ur just replacing a 200hr grind with another maybe 200hr grind? Between mining smelting and smithing the ores and bars idk.

  9. HR boys, this happens to be the best of the best videos you've done on this channel!! Everyone worked well together in the extreme cold weather. I hope you had plenty of tea and rest. This was really a battle of the cannons. The finale of the day (and SLOWLY OF THE DAY) is one of the best ever!! Gav and Dan: good luck. Ball is in your court. You regret not being there now. I'll mail you a humble pie if you want!!

  10. I'm going with a piezoelectric discharge. KISS. The deformation and compression of a crystalline structure producing a high voltage discharge exhibiting photons in the electromagnetic spectrum we call light . It's cool but a common phenomenon. Am I wrong?
