  1. Can you[or another well tech] tell me what size that o-ring is??I have a maass model 6J1[I bet you know what that is ]and it VERY hard trying figure out what size it is .Its part#001030.I was wanting some spares in case I need them. I bet you may know the answer in your head and tell me where to get them. The manufacturer does not sell to individuals. My well pump that I installed in 2010 has been working fine for nearly 14 years and I have all the spare parts except new o-rings. Even bought a pipe dog. Thank you!!!

  2. Excellent video and explanation! I will check my amps first but I’m pretty sure my pump went bad after not replacing my bad pressure tank for over 6 months. Learn from my mistake people! Replace bad pressure tanks immediately!

  3. Not sure how I happened across this channel but I'm glad I did. You've helped take the mystery out my own well setup. Seeing that pitless adapter with your explanation gives me the confidence to take on a future repair myself. I will need to replace my pitless adapter at some point as the water here in my locale is very corrosive and has done a number on mine. So far it's holding pressure down at that connection point but I know at some appointed day it will work loose again and I will hear my well pump short-cycle. I will have to excavate and do a replacement then. Hopefully in the summer as I'm in northern IL.

  4. Always wondered how those work, that's about what the well at my Grandparents and at my last rental looked like (we're in Virginia). Don't know anything about it but the top cover at our rental would sometimes "pop off" the top of the casing and they'd "push it back on" but all I knew was it had wires in there not how it worked.

  5. I grew up on a rural California property wit a well. It was drilled to 275' with water at about 175, and the pump hung at about 225. The concrete well pad accommodated the well, and the bladder tank, which was 50 to 75 gallons. It was a steel cased well. That water was so good! And crystal clear. During our 1 and only major pump failure, we just ran a garden hose from our neighbors well, and that kept us going until the pump was replaced. The wells in that area must have had really good flow rates because I never heard of anyone in the neighborhood running their well dry. The housing development was on a 2.5 mile oval with houses along the inside, and outside of the oval with 2.5 acre lots. Each lot had it's own well.

  6. I am assuming the ONLY reason a submersible pump installation is like this is fear of the water pipe bursting. It is much more difficult to gain access than how it’s done here in NC. Using PVC is terrible. Roll plastic is best. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Wow. Great video, wish you were in my area so I'd hire you… I have this type of well pump at my 1920s old farmhouse… I've been trying to unscrew those bolts/nuts on the cap to remove it so I can shock the well with chlorine/beach..do you have a video on this process?

  8. Great video. I've got this set up, with a jet pump and 2 lines. It's pulling up very small amount of air. The pressure can't go above 32psi so the pump never shuts off. I think this is the next connection to check!

  9. Question for you mabey you can answer it? By the way I am amazed at the way you show how things work I'm a visual learner so thank you! My question is I keep getting super fine sand in my filters. Quite a lot what causes this? I know mine is hanging on PVC. Can it be that it's too low? My well is 280ft.

  10. We have a pitless well out front of our house. Never understood how it worked. Thought the electrical conduit pipe was the water pipe. Now makes perfect sense. But… you have to wonder who dreamed up that system of well installation and why. Pretty ingenious but also weird.

  11. YOUR VIDEOS ARE FABULOUS!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I am having to learn about pitless adapter hook up for well way up north. No house yet.
I have watched many of your videos already which are extremely helpful. You give excellent instructions!

  12. I have a 405' deep well producing 2 1/2 gallons a minute with my pump at 300'. I need to drop my pump (25 yrs. old) 100'. Provided electrically I'm good can I simply attach 100' more black pipe with a brass barbed coupling and splice on an additional 100' of 10/3 wire? Also any suggestions on pump size would be appreciated.

  13. This is probably my most favorite video. I have a well that I just pulled up of 225' of PVC. The pipe had broken about 4' up from the pump at the bottom- and had burned up. I used a hitch deer hoist (I dont hunt….but now own a deer hoist. LMAO), vise grips, two 8' long ratchet straps, and a 2"X6" board with a U shaped cutout for pipe and wire to come up through. It wasnt bad…just time consuming…a lot of cranking. Sure beat the hand over hand removal. Now I have a new pump, polypipe, pitless adapter and all new fittings. So glad I found your channel. Thanks so much for your tips and knowledge.
