I think the Mimic is a cluster of contradicting personalities, or the digital souls it's claimed over time. Just imagine how chaotic and confused a mind would be if it were composed of many former individuals? The Mimic is Cassie's dad, it's Afton, it's everyone it's ever claimed both good and evil alike. Now the two forces are fighting for control.

What I think happened was that yes, we are playing as Cassie's dad, and that means that the V.A.N.N.I. mask is not Vanny's, but his… I also want to theorize how since this entire game play we've been in the perspective of Cassie's dad, I wonder if the staff bot is possessed by him. (Via being stuffed or his consciousness being downloaded into the staff bot; Doesn't matter. All that matters is that he becomes a staff bot.)

That kinda explains why the staff bot has it. It also explains why the V.A.N.N.I. mask says it belongs to a class V technician, even though we know for a fact that Vanessa is not a technician but a security guard.

It's like a bittersweet reunion but it's also very messed up because imagine getting jumped by a bunch of staff bots, waking up in a staff bot, seeing a little girl in front of you, realizing that the little girl in front of you is your beloved daughter who you haven't seen in ages (Cassie talks about him in past tense meaning he died and she seems very calm about it too meaning that it was a while ago), realizing that you have your mask still with you knowing the dangers it brought to you, then giving it to your daughter because the programming in the staff bot says to do it… Even if you don't want to…

So in a way, Cassie's dad is kind of responsible for his daughter's alleged death…

I personally both endings are canon. The minigames are most likely all Glitchtrap making the main character do jobs for FE so that the Mimic can properly learn what it is like ot be a technician, so that he can properly mimic it in RUIN as Helpi, that most likely being why the Ending is named HELPTRAP in the files. I think we most likely play as Cassie's dad, who I think is the son of Bonnie Bully.

As for the PQ4 Ending, it most likely represents the aftermath of RUIN, with Cassie surviving the fall from the elevator. Vanny crushing Glitchtrap most likely represents the Vanny A.I becoming her own entity after Vanessa was freed like B7-2, a TALES story where someone's dark side becomes a separate entity , crushing the version of herself that abused her.

The way the Mimic1 Program works is that it makes and latches onto a bunch of different A.I. Think of it like a tree. The Mimic1 program (most likely what the Tangle is) is the tree trunk, and Glitchtrap, Vanny, Dr. Rabbit/Grimic, the Pizzaplex animatronics, and the VR Game characters are the different branches.

TALES then goes on to reveal that when a Mimic A.I infects someone, it makes a copy of themselves in the person's brain, giving them the ability to take control. That's why Vanny asks exactly like Glitchtrap, because she sprouted from the Glitchtrap branch, and became her own branch. Same for Dr. Rabbit, the Mimic that was in Gregory.

So, once Vanessa and Gregory were freed from Mimic1, Vanny and Dr. Rabbit were most likely reverted back into the program. Dr. Rabbit most likely possessed the Endo once Glitchtrap went into the VANNI mask and became Helpi, since both are Mimics of Gregory who manipulate people and lure them to their deaths.

Vanny most likely became the new head A.I of the Mimic1 Hivemind, since we find Vanny in PQ4 behind a door with a symbol of the Baobab Tree like the one in PQ1 with the Mimic Amalgamation, she towers over the claw machine with all the characters part of the Mimic1 Hivemind, most likely being a representation on it, which would explain why there are only plushies of Moon who SB implies symbolizes the Mimic's evil , but no Sun. We also know Vanny is most likely still a twisted entity by the time of HW2 due to even going with the Vanny appearance at all, the fact that she has Moon helping her, and the fact that she growls like a monster.

Some people say that it represents Vanessa using the Vanny look for good. But first off, the fact that she leaves us trapped in a claw machine in a scene that clearly parallels Glitchtrap imprisoning Vanessa and walking away into the darkness, making it very clear that Vanny manipulated the HW2 player like Glitchtrap and Dr. Rabbit did to Vanessa and Cassie, and second, MXES is meant to be a antivirus equivalent to Vanny most likely made by Vanessa, since so much ties the two together. So if Vanny in HW2 was meant to be the good version, it would make more sense to use MXES, and not Vanny, and Moon at the same time.

It also makes for a clean narrative. Vanessa gets revenge on the Endo, and Vanny gets revenge on the Glitchtrap A.I that was in the Endo.
