  1. Wow, you got some good stuff. I did watch the videos; I have been following you for a while now. I don't remember you're a LD fan, that's cool, Nice pickups for a good price. I have a CLD-99 and a CLD-A100 with a good chunk of LD movies/and a few games. I DO remember, the first NEW Star Wars, Lucas would not do DVD, so I got a Japanese disc of Star Wars: Episode I so I could watch the movie in Dolby Digital (only other version was VHS at the time). I worked in a high-end Hi-Fi store at the time and I took my disk in and used it as a demo. The pod races were WILD in DD. I think I was one of the very few that could experience that on the east coast at the time.

The NEOGEO AES, WOW prices, OMG, I had one when it was current, I HAD to have it. I remember back in the 90's picking up Viewpoint for the AES for $175, most games were under $150 used. I do have 8 games for the system and with current pricing, I do not think I will be buying too many more.

Very nice pickups, I could not go there myself, as I could not hold myself back….. I DO plan on going there one day and limiting myself to like $700.

  2. You'll need a pair of power supplies for the WiiU, the GamePad has its own, the idea being the console sits under the TV and the GamePad stays by the couch with your remotes and other game controllers. There was a nice charging stand as well, included in the original box.
Be sure to dump a backup copy of the NAND.

  3. Man I enjoyed this video….I am glad I got my laser disc system 2/3 years ago…..I have a few japanese gundam LDs and Goonies, toy story also japanese editions of laser disc….oh and bubblegum crisis

  4. Speaking as Japanese, its funny how people from the West especially Caucasians forget how racism works when they need to ransack my country for things they were too stupid and lazy to take care of. Globalization and the human race suddenly becomes interconnected when its for your benefit 😂

  5. I would call a lame person like you a king of games you have great understanding and respect of games and there development and thus there collectible value ❤ this video If I had ever had a son I imagine he would have been just like you thanks heaps for sharing the experience of going to Japan 😊

  6. Nice Pickups! I would love to visit Japan someday. Looks like you spent over 2k. Which honestly I am surprised what you bought didn't cost more. Both of those wondersans were a steal at those prices. The Wii U was also another solid choice at that price. You can't even find one in the US broken for 30 dollars.
Looking forward to what you have coming up next.

  7. This channel is something special, I am a big geek/nerd and I've watched everything, but this young man/fellow is going to be big in the future, remember these words.

  8. Man it sure feels like Japan, despite the laws and working issues, has one of the best collections of retro stuff in the world (probably more than UK and US combined, including Canada and Ireland). So dude, thanks for doing this, I've seen many of these consoles over the years, and despite the prices, it's always nice to see what you picked up and what you'll use over the next 5/10 years or so. Thanks for making this video, enjoyed every minute of it but had to wait until Friday to watch considering yesterday I was a bit busy cleaning the house up.

  9. Actually, you CAN still use the Mega Modem! iirc, it didn't connect to a service, it was for peer-to-peer dial-up multiplayer gaming, so if you have access to an analog phone line and another person with a Mega Modem and a phone line, you can theoretically play one of the few titles supporting it!
Oh man, an X68000… <3 How did early Japanese PCs arrive so perfectly at that gorgeous cyberpunk aesthetic?! Like this X68000 tower, or the one Sony MSX HitBit or whatever which totally looks like a Cyberdeck?!

  10. just for the sake of a complete set i'll mention that you are missing the biohazard directors cut standard version with the white cover (you showed the dualshock version which has a different soundtrack too) also, biohazard 2 regular version came with some nice memory card stickers, hope you got those too. finally, what about RE4 on gamecube?

  11. Dude, that game gear in the back. what? ……
Lookong forward to the wonderswan screen mod
Please let us hear a clip of Back to The Future in Japanese. It should be hilarious:
    "Hosso onnu nuaa"
That was my impression of Japanese
I would keep those t-shirt boxes closed. I mean when would you even wear them. Own enough gaming clothes already I assume, right!

X68000 is by far the prettiest computer ever by far. Nothing comes even close. Nothing. Looking forward to a video on that too.
    Please visit Japan again soon.

  12. admittedly If I did decide to get a bunch of imports from japan, I feel like I'd be the person to pick up a Japanese PS2 and a bunch of Bemani games, possibly controllers

  13. Man, that brings so many memories. My first trip to Japan was in 2003, I was 19 and already a retro addict. In those days, it was very interesting to go and and buy retro because of the huge stock you could find, and the prices were ok (internet was not as big as today). I remember bumping into another retro tourist that was older than me, and he said that retrogaming and Laserdisc shops were not as interesting to visit as they were in 1995! Haha, I thought that it was interesting enough, and as Tito, I fully packed my luggage with treasures I still own. Especially laserdiscs, man, you gotta love these cover arts ! It could be displayed at home like a painting on the wall. At 9:30, this Princess mononoke LD is amazing.
