  1. As someone with dry, mature skin, I've tried a lot of barrier repair products. I keep going back to Stratia Lipid Gold, but I use it under a moisturizer, the illiyoon ATO Ceramide Concentrate Cream. Both are pretty affordable. I did just get Happy barrier from G&G!!! Along with their C Glow!!!
Many blessings for a happy & healthy New Year!💖💖💖

  2. Lanbelle's Supernatural Cream has been amazing to keep away the flakies that I get with tretinoin. I'd love for you to do a deep dive into their line, especially the EGF ampoule

  3. The biggest thing for me was cutting back on cleansing. I think we underestimate how disruptive cleansers can be; even "gentle" cleansers. When I was first starting I was doing it every morning and night as it's often recommended. Way way too drying. I learned to wash my face only at night and rinse with water in the morning and that helped a lot. Now a days, I often won't even rinse my face with water. I'll blot my face of excess oil with a towel and proceed with sunscreen. Why rinse off the moisturizer if my skin needs it? That move actually stopped my skin from stinging when I would put on products in the evening. The only other thing I try to be careful of is using acids, including formulations using L-Ascorbic acid. It's just too irritating for me to use glycolic acid every week. I usually do it 1 to 2 times a month. Vitamin C I'm on the fence about using L-Ascorbic acid or using a derivative. The science is still too young on some of these derivatives to be convincing enough for me to spend my money.

  4. The same beauty industry that sells you over-exfoliation wants to sell you barrier repair. The same beauty industry that sells you over-plucking eyebrows now wants to sell you microblading.

  5. Shocked that the drunk elephant barrier repair product isn't a pleasant formula, per your description. Isn't that the purpose of the price point? I dont understand it otherwise. I pay extra for peach and Lily's glass skin serum because it feels incredible, just an example. I expect way more from DE's price point.

  6. I’m focusing on prevention for my barrier. This winter that means a pump of Stratia lipid gold in the morning and 2 at night. We haven’t had harsh weather but I’ve upped my retinoid use and it’s working well.

I used to use the old PC barrier repair moisturizer that had a small amt of retinol as my nighttime eye cream. I don’t think I’ll be trying any of these. Between lipid gold and other less expensive products, I don’t think these would add anything to my routine.

Sarah, thanks for getting me to look at gold bond moisturizers again. My neck has been my most irritation prone area. I use their 2% colloidal oat cream every night on my neck. It’s thick and soothing and a great value. I’m also using their retinol on my body

  7. I'm still upset over PC discontinuing the Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol 😢 it was a HG for me. I did try their new moisturizer and I didn't care for it. It's light weight but it sits on your skin. It's one of those moisturizers that you sweat off

  8. I just started trauma and products have been stinging specifically the ordinary barrier serum so I’ve cut out all serums and just use a gentle cleanser in the morning and sunscreen and just cleanse, trilingual and moisturizer at night. I think I may stick with this routine honestly maybe add a vitamin c back eventually but that’s it

  9. I got the huge bottle of prequel Gleanser the other day and holy cow I’ve never ever used a more gentle cleanser. It is a STEAL for the price and it’s over 10oz I think. 50% glycerin it feels almost velvet and foams a bit.

  10. Omg that’s crazy every single thing you have I also ended up getting. I am kinda disappointed with the drunk elephant one. The ingredients sounded amazing. But it does a weird sloughing off on my skin like its pilling but not in the normal way most American creams pill onto little balls. this one pills off in just weird little slivers of product which is unusual for drunk elephant creams, plus paying over $70 for it I expect it to be cosmetically elegant but nope. I used it with products and without on dry clean skin and it STILL peels off in the weirdest way. If you even touch your skin after applying at any point in the night watch out cuz it is gross especially on the neck.
I know with all the Paula’s choice moisturizers I’ve used they’ve all pilled on me but I notice if they’re liquidy enough and I shake it forever then it mixes back up and stops pilling for a few weeks then once it sits again the product must break away from the oils and silicones and it pills again. 🤷‍♀️ if you haven’t noticed, pilling is my biggest nightmare and makes my skin CRAWL.
I also got the DRMTLGY barrier repair overnight mask and holy cow that one pills and balls up in clumps I cannot stand it I used it twice. I tried it on the back of my hand when I first got it and it pulled on my hand!
on another note i love the biossance ectoin but the ingredients list is very underwhelming.
i think all these brands are following the korean skincare trend which right now in the US is barrier repair. it is nice theyre coming out with gentle products tho since so many are now using retinoids.
i LOVE the thickness of the cica cream from numbuzin it is veryyy similar to the kheils barrier cream.
After being so underwhelmed by these new US barrier repair products I find myself reaching for Korean ones again. There’s just nothing better than Korean and Japanese moisturizers and thicker creams they’ve really figured out how to consistently be super cosmetically elegant as well as inexpensive.
The newest Korean cream I got was actually very similar in texture and density to the Biossance ectoin cream and it’s called Tirtir ceramic cream. I got it over Black Friday on Amazon from the brand for like 20$ I saw it’s sold online now at a lot of places it’s very thick very much like Biossance ectoin

  11. I'm going to stick with modulating glucosides, and Stratia Lipid Gold! Or Ample:N crramide shot ampule and Cosrx 92 cream. Works Every. Single. Time. For me anyway😉💗💗💗
