What's the o/s used just after the first bios chip when they boot that looks like MS-DOS but has different colours?
These things are no joke. I work with them, but mostly intel-based servers. The power these things have is why your banks work and you can get on a plane.
Just imagine if you could use this IBM for gaming 😂
Just one of those compute drawers is the equivalent of… how many System/360 machines?
How much would that cost?
Some people have been writing off IBM as a dinosaur but frankly a company that does everything from maintaining and developing multiple OSs, chip design, the absolutely insane task of mainframe development, quantum computing and semiconductor manufacturing and other fundamental research, being the first major mover in the modern AI space a FULL DECADE before the current explosion including getting certified for use in informing medical decisions, shows really they're just as advanced as they were before – just no longer making consumer desktops or the best keyboards on the planet!
