“The Aiden Project🔨”

Watch as I dive headfirst into the chaos caused by mischievous mice who wreaked havoc on my Mercedes van’s wiring. Discovering the initial mayhem in the fuse box under the bonnet was just the tip of the iceberg – these rodents went all-in, creating nests and even stashing dry roasted peanuts…

  1. Bloody hell mate, I feel for you.

Hats off for getting all that done though, like you said, I’d have taken one look at that and I’d have probably tough the vans as good as scrap. That’s impressive stuff considering you’ve never done it!!

  2. Thinking of a deterrent for the ingress of mice….obviously the vans cat has become exhausted 😂
But seriously the cliff hanger end to the vid took me back to Saturday morning cinema…you Swine!

  3. Oh man, nothing like a cliff hanger ending. Do we really have to wait until next week to find out if it's sorted? Just like the old days of waiting a week to see the next episode of a TV show, kids these days just don't understand it. Anyway, hopefully you did get it sorted. Pain in the arse though, as if you didn't have enough to sort out then this happens. Look forward to seeing the outcome.

  4. Left us hanging did ya?!?!
You take the cake jumping into that wiring. I think I would have had an electrical fire and called my insurance company and claimed ignorance.

I hope like hell it starts!

  5. Out of curiosity how much do you think an auto electrician would charge for this? This is the sort of job which justifies paying a professional as its complicated af. Somethings are DIY but you got to weigh up the effort, time and the freezing cold weather vs getting it done properly. That being said I'm hoping you get this sorted as it would be a huge achievement.

  6. If it works it will be amazing and a phenomenal job. But if it didn't work first time it would be difficult to diagnose the fault.
There was a time Mercedes had wiring with nsulation the mice loved – bio degradable, made from starch or some such nonsense. But I don't know if they still use it.
Hopefully you will find a way to keep the blighters out of places they aren't wanted,…..probably the peanuts weren't such a good idea!! 👍
It's amazing how you keep bouncing back after being kicked in the balls. Nothing will defeat you!…..you have an amazing attitude to problem solving.

  7. Looks like a nightmare. If you get it working, I'd strongly recommend replacing those connector blocks or they'll cause you more headaches further down the line once a bit of moisture gets to them. Can't beat solder and heatshrink.
