  1. Dragon Quest V on the PS2 is my favorite ArtePiazza game, but sadly it only came out in Japan, though there's a translation patch. The DS version has a better UI but the PS2 version is better in every other way, especially the beautiful orchestrated soundtrack.

  2. When you said it was "Arte Piazza", I just had a blank look and said "Who?" in response to that statement.

But as soon as you held up all those DS/3DS Dragon Quest games, I knew that we were in good hands. Those are awesome remakes and very much the definitive ways to play DQs 4-7. Those games should not be so expensive. They should have physical versions of a fair price.

I didn't know they did the 2D version of DQ11. That's awesome. I loooove that DQ11 has an old-school 2D version like that. So these guys and gals just continue to deliver. I can't wait to play Mario RPG Remake.

  3. I’ll be honest, I’m not loving the clickbait-y title from GVG. Kinda expected better from them 🙁
They can just mention the studio in the title or the thumb – they’re a relatively small studio so the direct exposure wouldn’t hurt either.

  4. Ah SquEnix's side of people.Given the horrible track record of typography on their side, I figured that would be the case. I mean, compare the original Super Mario RPG and the remake's typefaces; the former had so much personality.

  5. I can hardly wait for the next future to have even more surprises and excitements after the exciting remake of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars which I am very likely getting.

  6. This team makes a lot of sense for this project. It is the only I know of that A) has developed remakes of SquareEnix games, and B) worked with Nintendo, as the big N published DQ outside of Japan.

  7. It's nice to see ArtePiazza getting some recognition. The remakes they've worked on have usually been good. And I've always thought Opoona was way underrated. (It may not have sold well but the game itself is good and I really do think it should receive another chance.)
