  1. The ally sucks though..

If you have a beefy gaming pc you can use the deck to remote play your games. With doing so this will allow you to run games better at higher settings because youโ€™ll be using your pcโ€™s gpu instead. Unlike with Sonys next cloud hand held the deck works remarkably well when it comes to doing this and no one is really talking about it.

This also works for playing games you otherwise wouldnโ€™t be able to due to the anti cheat or incompatibility with the deck otherwise (pubg & dragonball z fighter for example.)

  2. Although y perfectly respectable. For someone whoโ€™s channel is build around gaming and a lot of steam deck I believe you should give the jump. You will be surprise of how much better is in every single sense. And if you get to sell the lcd you could upgrade for way less (what I did)
    I could not be happierโ€ฆ.

  3. I was not going to get the OLED unless i could get a good price out of my LCD deck. I got a decent price so i basically got the oled for a couple hundred bucks (1 TB). It is absolutely a game changer but i think if you cant sell the old one no need really to change it up. The battery life though .. holy smokes it feels like it will never die hahaha

  4. To me, handhelds are more about battery life. The screen on the OLED is also great. I sold the Ally. If you want to play performance games then I look at a laptop or playing on a desktop. Handhelds should be about portability and fun and to me that means being able to take it anywhere, turn on a game, and play. You canโ€™t do that with the more power hungry handhelds. Thatโ€™s why I think itโ€™s more important to think about use cases and not about the device that will solve all of your problems.

  5. You've over thought this.. You're definitely missing out. I admit I just like getting new tech.. But I'm loving the oled version way more than I ever thought I would. Soooo ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฟโ€โ™‚๏ธ

But can we get a list of games featured in the video?

  6. I have the steam deck 256gb lcd and I really donโ€™t care about the new steam deck I prefer the one I have itโ€™s actually better than the new one even if it has a better battery and a better screen it still not for me the LCD display is way better for my eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ I donโ€™t really care about hdr I prefer the old version before the new version just my own opinion

  7. Make a video about what if the steam deck come out and switch the desktop side to windows 11 would kill all competition. It would have the true gaming side and windows 11 the real pc side ..I hate the ๐Ÿ–ฅ side on steam would be nice

  8. A thing I did is that my old LCD model is install windows to use it as a Super-portable PC (smaller than my old laptop ๐Ÿ™‚ ). My OLED is staying on SteamOS for the time being.

  9. Completely agree.
While I love my OLED screens on my Vita and my Switch, I still play Vita 2000, regular old Switch and other handhelds with non OLED screens.
I can happily wait for the next iteration.
That said, Iโ€™m at the point where itโ€™s really time to mess with my Steamdeck! So Iโ€™m trying to decide between an internal SSD update, or a bigger micro SD card.
Currently both those things are 256gig. So I think what I will do is 1TB internal AND 512 Micro SD ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  10. It's all good, as your one of the few Steam Deck content creators not getting the OLED(maybe the only one I've seen), and it's not a big deal. I've been a handheld gamer since forever, and I normally always sell my previous unit to help pay for the latest and greatest. I never bought the OG Deck, so the OLED is a no brainer for me, but for those who have the LCD and like it(didn't have big issues with it), why upgrade right away?

I don't own a Switch, but that OLED model I'm sure I would have past on, as I would never use that kickstand and the screen while better, the OG screen was more than decent. I sold my DS to get the Lite, My Vita 1000 for a 2000, and so on, but I sell stuff online and it was never a big deal to sell a system to upgrade. But it's not always required, it all depends on ones needs in the moment, and if they want and need the new features.

  11. You never upgraded your SSD did you? So if you're going for the top model again, you would effectively triple your available storage rather than double, because Valve did not only keep prices the same, they also increased the storage. 64 becomes 256 GB, 256 to 512 and the top model is 1 TB.

I love my oled deck. The screen is absolutely gorgeous and while it's not a great difference I do also enjoy that extra 0.4". I also really like the better battery. I started playing the outer worlds which I see you were also playing. Yesterday it lasted me 2 hours and 45 minutes and I was at 10% charge. That is long enough that it will cover almost all my play sessions. I'm almost always playing on my couch where I have a long charging cable so it doesn't really matter, but still it's nicer to not have that cable dangling on my deck. The longer battery life makes it more convenient to just play on battery and charge when I'm done playing while with the old deck when playing heavy games I plugged it in from the start to avoid having to do that halfway through my session. I also like the analog sticks that are a bit grippier and I think the back buttons are easier to press (but I can't really compare because I have the jsaux backplate on my old deck). Shoulder buttons are also better. I already liked playing on 45 fps/hz on the old deck, but on the oled you can do 45 fps/90 Hz which I think is noticeably more responsive. Hard to say for sure though because apparently the old deck also got a responsiveness upgrade with new firmware.

All that said though, I definitely can understand why many people will just stick to their old deck. Performance wise there is very little difference, if any. For me, gaming is my primary hobby, I live alone and have enough disposable income that I really didn't have to think that hard about dropping the money on a new oled deck. For other people it may not be that easy and then it can definitely be a better idea to just save that money until maybe there is a deck 2 with a big performance jump in two years maybe. Me I will happily pay again for a new deck in that case, assuming we get an oled model from the start (would be tough to go back to LCD now).

  12. Iโ€™m gonna try and sell my switch and use that money towards a steam deck. Super excited to try it out but also also kinda overwhelmed and nervous about it because I have almost 0 experience with PCโ€™s

  13. If youre on a Budged the LCD is totally fine remember Apple Users still use LCD on their Normal IPad Pro.
LCD itself is not bad for its Price.
Both have the same Power to run Games.

And Steam Deck 2 could come after Ps5 and Xbox Series X Era ends or Advancements had become really far compared to current Steam Deck.

In Valve Time it means 5 Years as a Guess.

  14. I disagree with anyone that regularly uses the deck and think itโ€™s not a worthwhile update . Finances are different for everyone but if you have the spare cash, this is a massive upgrade , sans performance .

Sell your old deck . Get the oled .
