Just as expected, while the usa is busy trying to curb China's progress by limiting its export, China is exporting its own home grown chips which has now increased by more than 25%. The American giants must have been crying seeing that their revenue is evaporating rapidly because of export limit and competition by China's local chips manufacturers. The usa is not only shooting its own foot but its arms also.

Mature microchips, also known as legacy microchips are the "tried and tested" generation of these semiconductors products.
They may be bulkier in size and consume more power but they will "do the job" required for the design.
Production yield are also better for such mature legacy chips hence cheaper in price.
