Acer palmatum ‘Ilarian’ Japanese Maple

Bought a maple when I was in Gaston a few years ago. It was nice that Buchholz let me visit their nursery. They are only wholesale so I guess they liked my girlfriend’s smile

Matt and Tim I messaged you a few months ago about a witches broom occurring on a pine on my property. You asked for photos and I apologize for my lapse in speed. In my defense I work in my garden from can till can't and lose connections with everyone in spring and summer, some to my credit. 😂 . Anyways I'm fascinated by what I see with regard to the broom . I will explain. The pine is probably 60 ft tall and difficult to reach that high. I have never grafted anything and I know that conifers are not so easily grafted. The most fascinating thing is that beneath the pine are many seedlings and one of them has a two brooms on it . I never would have thought that a broom would be passed on genetically to seeds . I'm collecting as many seeds as I can to see how readily a plant passes on a broom genetically. You asked for photos and im going to try again to send you . I don't understand the internet and am never sure what I'm doing when sharing. Cross your fingers I can figure out how to send pics. Oh yes one other thing, I live in Arkansas and we're surrounded in any direction by pines so it's not much of a novelty to see them .
