Brother MFC-L2710DW Toner/Drum Error Reset
Brother laser warnings linger after a cartridge swap when the drum life or toner chip state was not reset. The L2710DW has panel sequences for both.
Toner vs drum
Toner empty and drum end are different. Replacing toner will not clear a drum warning—and vice versa.
Panel reset outline
- Open the cover / replace the part firmly until it latches.
- Use Brother’s documented drum counter reset (often a covered button on the drum unit while powered).
- For toner, ensure you pulled the seal and the cartridge is seated; some regions need chip-compatible toner.
Safety notes
Do not tape over sensors as a permanent fix—you will print until the drum ruins pages.
