It was mentioned in ISC that we can now repair a softly destroyed ship when towed to a pad. So this video will test that statement whether it is true or not.

As far as I know when its major structural damage, you have to wait a good bit for repair. Ut wont happen right away
Have you tried Towing it to a hanger and storing the destroyed ship and try pulling it back out or it only works on damage ships that are not fully Soft death I know you can repair those easily
I seen people being able to rotate it as much as they wanted just like a regular tractor beam so I don't know if it's a bug for you might want to relog or store the ship and try again
Repairing Soft Death ships was mentioned on "Inside Star Citizen: Arrasted Development" on SC's Youtube Chanel at 4 min, 25 sec. The way he talks about it seems to me that it should be possible in game now.
I was having a hard time getting my ship repaired on some servers. Normal damage, not soft death. I had to log out and into a different server to repair my ship. Maybe it is a bug?
It's alt+r, I believe.
Tobad the repair wouldnt work. But it possible to do this hand tool that the vultore could make or just buy in game normally you salvage ( scrape the romp) is it passble with the too to put it back what you scrape back on the ship? Just an idea l
Next test: will have to try to replace the components and see what that does…

It is hilarious that everyone is all hyped from that CitCon demo showing off all of the new game features not realizing that stuff is years away and when it does come into the game it will be in a Tier 0 state and will stay in a Tier 0 state probably for months or even additional years.
Your SRV reaction was literally me just last night after renting it from the show. Not sure if it's just a bug or what, but the tractor beam on it is lacking.
SRV is buggy. it has functionality to rotate and increase/decrease distance just like the handheld but neither works. there are IC reports for it. I am able to rotate in the C1, Vulture and Nomad.
That's a default issue with the pads, I've been unable to repair ships that weren't soft deathed.

I tried to repair my Prospector on a pad and it wouldn't… So it's a repair bug…
Nice work Foxy and straight out the gate too. I hope CIG are watching your videos as this is a bit of a shocking oversight if it is indeed as it appears. I knew watching John Crewe tonight say “oh yeah and you can just tow it to a pad and repair”…nothings ever that easy in SC! 😂
Repairing is ofthen bugging for me
I've run into those same issues on ships that weren't destroyed., It's just a server issue and it's not refreshing. I would attempt the same experiment on a different server. I think it'll work. You just might have the misfortune of the server, not working correctly. I've had that happen to me several times where it just won't fix the ship and it just keeps taking my money. Usually I have to log out and join a friend on another server.
In the Pyro preview I got attacked as I was going into a hanger, I soft deathed on the pad and was able to repair my ship, so its meant to work, guess its buggy on the live build
it will keep taking money from you despite no repairs done, pads seem to be extra broken this patch
maybe that's why it didn't repair, it was more then soft damage, also the, i thought i could get in some ships before when they got destroyed, could not start them though

Is there a tractor mode? As opposed to towing model
Could the problem that you coudln't rotate the target be tied to the armistice zone?
try using RMC repair tool? manually replacing the internal components
SOFTLY the SRV has virtualy no control over large obejcts it's like a fishing rod tho you can pull it closer by lifting the beam and rolling the mouse wheel,

It works, pads have just been busted since 3.16 or 17
what does it say on the asop when the soft dead ship is on a pad? I assume it still just says destroyed
I had just as much success get repairs on a functional ship.
Until they get that fixed I don't think the effort to Tow all the way just to have repair services bug is worth it.
