  1. Backing carriage horses uses the word Back not the colcking or chirping sound which usually means to go forward. Our buggy equines will back on word command. I also use it on our riding horses. That is why you and everyone has to by one the same page for word commands. When I say whoa all my horses stop. Had a few lesson where horses were not listening to the handler. I just said whoa and every horse stop. Another word was quit for misbehavior. Also if it is for pacific horse I use their name with the word command.
Take the time and go and see how carriage horses are handled from the ground to being hooked up.
Turkeys will attack. Especially if a stranger enters their territory. And if Gabby keeps putting pressure on him with her feet. He may turn.
Teach yourself on how to tell if when your horse's shoe is loose. And periodically clinch them down. I mention this before but you must not have read the comment.
What a beautiful shadow. I would trace it and paint it for a backdrop in your barn. We did this along the side of our arena.
Sorry to here you are missing the show. Check With the show, if they have a Farrier on site or on call. We always had one for our shows.
Love seeing the goats and everyone all together.
    Great day on the farm.
    God Bless.

  2. Since it’s just a shoe that needs put on does your farrier or trainer know another farrier who can come just to put the shoe on? Many times there are even farriers at shows and a shoe that needs tacked on is easy. If it was loose and you pulled it and still have the shoe itself that’s an easy fix! Even if you still scratch the show, going for an extended period of time with one shoe on and one off isn’t ideal.
