“JoBlo Originals”
While people mostly associate Sylvester Stallone with Rocky and Rambo, the fact is outside those two franchises he made some pretty iconic action movies. Here at JoBlo, we’re Stallone super fans, and three of our favorites are the three classics he made for Warner Bros in the 80s, Cobra, Over…

Sylvester Stallone Is The Man! 👊✊😊👍👌😆🎄⛄🎅
We all made fun of the kid in Over the Top because he was always crying. However, what would you do if your dad played a mean trick like that on you…took you to a diner and without saying anything to you beforehand, challenged a bigger kid to arm wrestle you for money?
Yes I'm a huge Cobra aficionado too. I can't walk past a supermarket Walkie Talkie system without wanting to grab it and say "Hey Dirtbag, You're a lousy shot, I hate lousy shots, You wasted a kid for nothing, Now I think it's time to waste you".
Imo Stallone's most overlooked/underrated film of this period is the excellent Nighthawks (81 )with Sly as somewhat burned out NYC undercover robbery division detective Deke DaSilva drafted reluctantly into a fed task force to take down master terrorist Wulfgar (Rutger Hauer) on a NYC rampage. Great supporting cast: Billy Dee Williams, Nigel Davenport, Joe Spinnel, Persis Khambatta. I wish Nighthawks was better known. Of course I love Cobra too, it really is an excellent action thriller.
Tango and Cash is gold !!!
But I love it for Jack Palance. He cracked me and my friends up almost every scene he’s in!!😂😂
Over The Top is the greatest arm wrestling film of all time.

I saw 'Tango & Cash' when it came out in theatres, and I love it! I could watch it once a week and never ger tired of it. The chemistry was off the charts for Sly and Kurt and I wish they had done a sequel. That said, I also really like 'Lock-up', too. But I like dark action-thrillers.
Stallone Rules Man! Loved ALL of this classics!
Didn’t even know they had toys from over the top. I think I’ve seen part of it I didn’t even know they had toy from that. Wow you learn something every day.😮
Love it and i too burst into FEEL THE HEAT moments, big fan of COBRA who had the longcoat the match and the Sunglasses first, Stallone in this of CYF in Better Tomorrow eh? OVER THE TOP i hated at the time, but revisited a while back and far more fun than i remembered….and ah TANGO AND CASH great fun but so much BTS madness……
👍👍👍🎥
“You’re a disease, and I’m the cure” I still say to my youngest son before I jump on his bed and start tickling the crap out of him. He’s at the age where parents aren’t cool, and the lines I quote to him I honestly hope he’ll figure out one day. Love cobra!!
Holy crap! This is sad if you think these are three of his best films…😢
Cobra was an entertaining movie to watch with friends over drinks. Stallone missed his calling as a mumble rapper lol.
Daym 😂 you can't represent with that title and make me not watch 🙏🏽 Good work
Cobra and that bad ass Mercury 😊 1950 I believe
Over the Top was filmed at an Armwrestling tournament that was put on specifically for the film. They had qualifying events all over the world culminating in the event at the end of the show.
As you said John Brzenk was there and he genuinely won the truck in the film, other world champion armwrestlers that were there were Johnny Walker, Cleve Dean (two of the action figures you showed) and Allen Fisher.
When I was a kid I've seen Tango and Cash 4 times on VHS
Stop or my mom will shoot was funny, if you were a kid, as an adult it was pretty shit.
COBRA
DELETED SCENE – The Lift Scene was in the UK Version as far as I can remember. Why was it deleted in the US Version?
Cobra was kinda Cool could have been a another good franchise over the top had it's moments not a perfect movie but ok tango &Cash always enjoyed and still do haven't watched it in a while the 80s where a good time at the theater then un like today
He’s closing in on 80 and still putting out great work. Watch Tulsa King.
I have an old tv broadcast of Cobra that has some of the deleted scenes. The Night Slasher works a day job in, where else? A meat locker lol.
These are 3 of Stallone’s best non Rocky/Rambo 🍿 Movies. Tango & Cash is my personal favourite of the 3 as Sly and Kurt Russell make a really great pair (especially as it originally was supposed to be the first onscreen pairing of Arnold Schwarzenegger with Sylvester Stallone). It also created the classic onscreen line “Fubar” which Annie recently used for his recent Netflix series.😊
everything stallone ever did was absolutely perfect, according to this channel lol
They should do another over the top
Especially now with that one famous trash talking arm wrestler
be so fun
