3:03 For the inexperienced, I recommend marking a line across the top of the motor so the parts go back together easily and properly during re-assembly! 5:02 I use a used green Scotch Brite pad to clean the shaft. I suggest mentioning putting oil into the felt ring that holds oil around the bushing and how much oil to use lubricate the felt! The oiled felt ring improves lubrication and extends the service life of good fan operation.! I often see very low amounts of oil wick inside the bushing housing which causes drying of the bearings! I have installed oil lamp wick to hold oil between servicings on some of my fans with good results! Thank you for such a fine table fan tutorial! Nandri. Van a kum.

A very helpful video ! I'm not sure who sells the bushing locally but the light cleaning paper and solvent process, the shaft polish and 2T oil should free up a tight fan motor of the same type which only worked a few months before getting over-tight. I have worked on these motors for years snd wish they were having sealed BEARINGS that might last 20 years!
