I found him by accident and spared him. It was hilarious to see him beg for forgiveness after 2 continuous backstab and thought he had something up his sleeves ( Mind you, this was my first souls game so i had no idea who that was). Didn't know you could get 2 emotes at that point so only got one. I decided to do his quest until he teleported me in the middle of the bears and i decided to return back and kill him. Well done Miyazaki. You really know how to piss off your players. 😂😂😂

In deamon souls can you not get back up and kill him
You don’t find him after he kicks you ? You find him way before that and do a bunch of quest line before he kicks you off a ledge

Patches is actually Miyazaki's self insert in hus games.
Objectively incorrect opinion. Patches is the best written and most consistent character in any fromsoft experience.
The closest second is the "crestfallen knight" archetype, but that's multiple different characters over all the souls like games.

In elden ring they made it so you can kill him but he gate keeps the strongest armor set in game so if you do you have no way to get it also a very strong whip

In shadow tower abyss, this character was not given a name and technically the first instance of "Patches" was actually first seen in armored core. But the character in tower abyss is the inspiration for patches
